SSL: Secure Socket Layer - Glossary Term

An encryption method that is used for secure data transaction between two or more computers. SSL is mainly used on websites that have personal data stored on them or when you are making any type of online transaction. When a site is secure you will notice a small padlock on your web browser that indicates the connection to that server is secure.
