H.264 Video Compression Devices, Digital Video Recording

The core of most, but not all solutions is based on our H.264 video compression devices. With over 100 models of H.264 Digital video recording and/or IP encoding devices, there are no project designs that Patronus Laboratories cannot develop a solution for. Solutions can scale from 1 camera to an unlimited number of cameras.

Integrated Solutions can consist of the following technologies:
1. Digital Video – Hybrid PC DVR/NVR (fixed and mobile), Embedded DVR (fixed and mobile), IP encoders (1 or 4 channels, with or without built-in storage), IP cameras (built-in storage)
2. Access Control Systems
3. Wireless communications – 802.11, cellular, satellite
4. Off-grid power system – solar, wind, generator

Patronus Laboratories will provide consulting services, design and manufacturing on any of the above types of solutions.

Hybrid PC based DVR/NVR Server - Network Video Recording

Patronus Laboratories Medius Hybrid PC based DVR/NVR is a 1 to 64 channel rack mount server. All models utilize the digital videos industries newest compression, H.264. The Medius server is a scalable convertible Tower or Rack mount server. The Medius server has options to expand the power supply from a single to dual redundant power supply, storage is expandable from 1 x 80GB Hard drive to 8 x RAID 5-1000GB hard drives. The Medius server runs the Concert software which provides 1 to 64 channels of Digital Video and/or Network video recording.

IP Video Recording

The Concert software can support a maximum of 32 channels of IP video recording. Any channels not used for recording IP video can be used to record analog video through internal compression cards. The total number of channels per server is 64 channels. The Medius Hybrid DVR/NVR server comes with free Concert NVR (Network Video Recording) remote client software.

IP Encoding

The Concert NVR client software supports connecting to 64 cameras at the same time. The 64 cameras can be from any combination of Patronus Laboratories 100+ recording and IP encoding models. All channels can support between 1 – 25fps/30fps, QCIF, CIF, 2CIF, DCIF and 4CIF resolution. H.264 compression is highly efficient and provides excellent image quality at 30-500% less bitrate then older compression technologies.

Novo IP Encoders - Two-Way Audio

There are 5 models of Novo IP encoders in the series. All models utilize the digital videos industries newest compression, H.264. All models support 1/16^th to 25/30fps, sensor inputs, relay outputs, perfectly synchronized audio recording, two-way audio, PTZ control, video RS-485 and more. There are 3 models without internal storage and 2 models with internal storage. The internal storage is provided through a 3.5inch Hard Drive up to 750GB capacity. With internal storage on the IP encoding device the network connection to the recorder can fail and no loss of recording will occur. Alternatively, as with all Patronus Laboratories devices, the Novo IP encoders with hard drives can locally record video at the “Main Stream” (higher bitrate settings) setting and the “Network Stream” (lower bitrate settings) can be used to transmit over limited bandwidth networks.

The Novo IP encoder series are compatible with the Hybrid Medius DVR/NVR and the Concert NVR Client software.
