Digital Video Recorder Technologies

IES Digital manufactures and develops digital video recorder technology (DVR) for the use in CCTV monitoring and surveillance environments. Established over ten years ago they have acquired an enviable customer list throughout the World.

Digital video technology offers a significant improvement in picture quality, reliability, flexibility and cost of ownership over conventional tape based CCTV systems.

The SiteScape2 brand has been developed over many years culminating in a World beating and highly featured software suite. The high performance range of hardware coupled with the software produces an extremely cost effective CCTV solution that represents one of the most fully featured solutions currently available.

The hardware includes up to 32 composite video inputs, 1Gb Network Ethernet interface and the ability to interface to access controls, alarms and control systems to provide high integrity monitoring of points of vulnerability.

Broadcast quality recording can be achieved across multiple cameras with picture rates from 25 per second up to 400 pictures per second. With picture rates of 400 per second it is possible to concurrently record 16 cameras at full frame rate video.

Network connection brings CCTV to the 21st Century, enabling monitoring to be performed remotely over existing infrastructures and archiving to be automated on secure remote servers where video can be retrieved from anywhere in the World if necessary. Connection to the Internet further increases the reach of this technology.

Abacus, the portable CCTV product launched in 2003, is proving especially popular among security forces, enabling teams to deploy wireless CCTV systems in minutes. The battery capability enables CCTV to be deployed in areas where mains power would not conveniently be available. Advances in GPRS, ADSL, ISDN other communications media means that these tools can provide video recordings securely to far away destinations.
