LEGIC® smart card readers support energy saving at TianJin Polytechnic University

The TianJin Polytechnic University in China chose the LEGIC technology from Tsinghua Mao Wu to develop a cashless payment system for facilities on its new campus session of 2 million square meters, soon to be extended on the old campus.

With about 25,000 students and 1,300 lecturers and tutors, the university wanted to get a system that would save resource and energy, improve management efficiency whilst providing a comfortable learning environment.

LEGIC Card Readers

1,730 units of LEGIC card readers are currently deployed, amongst which 180 are used in vending machines at the food plaza, 1,440 in water supply facilities, 55 for processing water supply transactions and the rest are used in the campus's access control system. All cashless transactions are processed by LEGIC smart cards with stored-value feature.
