In Cicero, New York, a 15 year old boat dealership comprised of 40 employees experienced theft problems. The dealership utilized a night watchman to secure their inventory against theft and vandalism. Unfortunately, these watchmen were frequently “sleeping on the job” and so RC CONGEL had no way to monitor theft and vandalism on the premises.
ADPRO Fast Trace was implemented and the dealership is currently fully monitored. Perimeter Closed Circuit Television Cameras and strategic pan, tilt, zoom (PTZ) units were fi xed onto the premises of the property. Here, they can monitor off-hour activity and unauthorized entry into the lot area.
ADPRO FastTrace units record all video activity and also provide 2-way audio. They allow a central monitoring station (Smart Interactive) the ability to ward off would be intruders prior to causing damage or theft of property on site.

Theft was not the only problem solved for Richard Congel. Employee damage was one problem solved because FastTrace interior cameras were installed to view the parts department, accounting areas as well as other key areas within the facility.
“Employee damage has been greatly reduced!” said Mr. Congel. “Previously we would discover damaged inventory and never know how it was caused. Now, the employees report damage they’ve caused before we find it, knowing that I have the ability to view all activity around the inventory.”
Not only damaged but missing parts from inventory was also a major problem. “The indoor cameras caught an employee stealing parts and enabled us to prosecute,” said Mr. Congel. Since the system has been installed, the missing parts inventory has been eliminated.
Employee productivity has also increased since ADPRO installation. Employees were not working full days, leaving soon after a supervisor would leave and even having one employee punch out multiple time cards, allowing others to leave early and undetected. ADPRO allows Mr. Congel to monitor his employees with a camera placed on the time clock.
“I can sit in my office and see employees congregate anywhere in the facility. The audio interface allows me to announce over the loudspeaker that break time is over and it’s time to get back to work. Previously, I wouldn’t know where my employees were congregating unless I physically walked the facility and came across them. It saves me time,” said Mr. Congel.
