BQT Solutions Limited is pleased to announce that in conjunction with its Singaporean distributor, BQT has successfully completed stage 1 of the Singapore General Hospital security upgrade worth $300,000.
The miPASS 3 Series intelligent devices were used in this project to deliver an integrated solution, combining secure door access with the hospital's Human Resources management system.
The BQT miPASS reader and card technology is connected to the hospital's access control system which determines whether a card holder has access to a particular location at a certain time. Uniquely, the miPASS reader is also connected to a HR database which writes back the last 10 transactions that card holder has performed to the memory chip of the miPASS card.
This process allows a security guard to interrogate a card holder with the use of a hand held smart card reader that displays where that card holder has been within the facility without having to access the security system. This capability is very is important in facilities such as a hospital in the event of a harmful viral outbreak. A potentially affected site can now be contained much faster by knowing which card holders were present within the affected areas.
As a first and already proven solution, BQT is confident that this technology will be adopted in similar applications.
