HF (High Frequency) is the radio spectrum with frequencies between 1.6 and 30 MHz. Within this radio spectrum an efficient form of transmitter modulation, SSB (Single Side Band), is used.
Risk and Threats
Clear communications may suffer form intentional or unintentional interference (Jamming) which is intended to disrupt government communications and ultimately coordination. Moreover is quite easy to intercept and monitoring HF communications. Monitoring HF communications may alert criminal and/or subversive element to the presence of government forces.
Securing HF Communications
The Telsy Crypto handset can be used to ensure secure communications over HF. Every HF radio that needs to manage secure communications must be equipped with the Crypto Handset. The equipment, designed for tactical use, takes advantage of the wide experience TELSY gained with the TX series of equipment delivered in tens of thousands of units to military, and law enforcement. It is suitable for mobile use and for base station applications.
Developed around the H250 handset, the TCH01c incorporates all of the features (physical and acoustic) of the standard military handset currently in service for tactical communications. High quality acoustic transducers with environmental noise suppression enhance the performance of the TCH01c making the secure handset highly reliable even for heavy duty.
The TCH01c is configurable for operation over HF-SSB and UHF/VHF standard or narrow spacing radio channels. Latest generation modems and vocoders have been designed to allow excellent voice quality also over bad channels.
