GM's V-ALERT Perimeter Intrusion Detection System uses a completely new method of detection that has no moving parts.
The system consists of Fence or Wall mounted sensors that detect small changes in movement caused by intruders attempting to Cut through the fence fabric, Climb over the fence, or in the case of wall-mounted systems, attempts to break through the wall.

The V-ALERT Sensor replaces conventional fence-mounted vibration detection systems with solid state electronic sensors that are Purely Electronics.
Electronic Fence Sensor
The system employs GM's unique V-Alert Technology which, together with the electronic fence sensor has no reliance on moving parts to generate detection data. Moving parts are a constant source of false alarms in competing systems especially in installations with high levels of windy conditions. Competing systems typically use data from mechanical-inertial sensors to detect an intrusion attempt.
V-Alert Sensor Detection Resolution / Sensitivity
The system has an additional advantage – Detection Resolution every 3 Meters as a result of each individual sensor having its own electronic ID. The system is supplied with a simple software application that gives the installer the ability to easily adjust the sensitivity of individual sensors. This is required in almost every installation depending on the type of fence and the condition of the fence. In addition using the system on walls or window bars will require different sensor parameters in order to provide a reliable level of detection.
