The set up of the sensor has been simplified by including a built-in walk tester and a heater controlled by a thermostat, which gives the sensor stability to work properly.
One issue seriously considered was the low mounting position of other sensors; IRIS can be mounted up to 3.5m (11' 6'') so it is less likely to be tampered with or damaged due to acts of vandalism. IRIS comes with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty.

Alarm Relay Cancel time window: To avoid repettive alarms from a single event, the Iris incorporates the ability to 'ignore' continuous activations for a selectable period (1 ~ 60 seconds).
This 'Time Window' runs from the last activation within the given time frame, there by always monitoring the event. During this time the alarm relay is overidden.
Tilt Proof: Inbuilt vibration and tilt sensor.
Walk Test Led: Inbuilt LED to assist with the initial walk test.
Walk Test Sounder: Inbuilt Walk Test sounder emits an audible tone to assist with the initial walk test.
