The compact and portable device from internal security specialist PW Allen is ideal for use by police and customs officers who need to sweep an area quickly and with confidence.
The camera head incorporates a powerful covert infrared light source and is mounted on a lightweight telescopic arm that can be extended up to 1.55 metres.
Measuring just 40x50mm, the camera head is small enough to be easily manoeuvred into confined spaces. The swan neck fitting allows the user to adjust the angle of view.
The combination of powerful illumination and very high resolution video system provides excellent visibility no matter how dark the conditions.
The Infrared Telescopic Camera includes other special features such as a fixed focus lens with a large depth of field and automatic gain control that constantly monitors optimises image contrast. This means the user can concentrate on the task in hand instead of having to carry out system adjustments during sensitive operations.
PW Allen has drawn on the most up-to-date technology to power the system by using a nickel-metal hydride battery which features fast charging. Once fully charged, it provides one hour of continuous operation.
The monitor, battery and controls are carried in a compact soft bag that can be worn securely on the chest using neck and waist straps.
The camera’s standard video output permits the use of VCRs to record the search as well as the use of additional monitors.
The complete system comprises the camera and infrared light source on a telescopic pole, monitor, rechargeable battery and controls fitted into a soft pouch, spare battery pack, battery charger and transit/storage case.
