Flexible Endoscope Aids Inspection

Allen Vanguard

Industrial equipment specialist Allen-Vanguard has introduced a flexible endoscope to enhance its internal inspection range.

The tool is ideal for detailed examination of internal components in machinery, motors and electrical equipment. It features a bright light for clearer viewing, as well as glass fibres, which produce images of extremely high quality and resolution. A video or still camera can be connected to the endoscope to record images and allow further analysis at a later stage.

A range of interchangeable viewing heads is available, enabling different fields of view, either forwards, or at a right angle. Further viewing heads include ratchet control – the area of vision increases by approximately 20° with each turn, meaning that the endoscope can be used for examination in almost any position. Once the desired angle is reached, the endoscope can be locked in place, avoiding potential instrument or operator fatigue.

As well as being fully flexible, the endoscope is tough and durable, with a jacket of either tungsten or urethane. It also features a patented over-torque design, which significantly reduces cable damage caused by misuse.

Roy Peers-Smith, president and chief executive officer at Allen-Vanguard said: “Our flexible endoscope is a versatile tool, valuable in any industry. It allows top quality internal inspection, whilst being easy to use and difficult to damage.”
