HEWI Extends Its Electronic Locking Systems Product Line and Signs LEGIC® Licence Partnership

LEGIC Identsystems Ltd

LEGIC Identsystems AG, the leading manufacturer of contactless smart card systems for personal identification applications and HEWI Heinrich Wilke GmbH, a company that has an international presence in the sector of project equipment products and focuses on technological progress and innovative design in architecture, have signed a licence partnership.

HEWI is expanding its electronic locking systems, originally launched in 1992 and extended in 2002, to meet the needs of the future.

HEWI Heinrich Wilke GmbH is based in Bad Arolsen, Germany, and is a future-oriented company that can look back on almost 75 years of tradition. Its product range includes signage systems, hardware, electronic locking systems, handrails and balustrades, sanitary accessories and products for barrierfree living as well as modular product systems, compatible technical platforms and solutions that are comprehensive in terms of function, form, material and colour.

HEWI's extensive service and support offering makes the everyday work of architects and planners easier and ensures trouble-free product use by end users in office buildings, hospitals, hotels, public buildings and sports facilities. HEWI products are distributed worldwide through an extensive network of subsidiaries and trading partners. The company sets great store on dependability and partnership with its customers and on delivering superior products, services and innovation.

HEWI recognized the growing need for flexible security systems early on and included electronic locking systems with contactless identification into its product range. The existing ID credentials (keys, key fobs, cards and watches), wall- mounted readers and doorframe systems, programming devices and central stations match and are compatible with HEWI's existing lines and are successfully positioned in the market.

One of the main requirements placed on electronic locking systems is that it must be possible to manage user groups and room assignments in properties flexibly and straightforwardly. Through this new licence partnership with LEGIC, HEWI is broadening its existing electronic locking systems product offer to include LEGIC contactless technology. This successful solution provider from Germany is therefore not only associating itself with a leading supplier with many years of experience in contactless personal identification, it is also clearing the way for innovative applications thanks to the broad range of possible applications for LEGIC smart card technology and its multi-functionality.

"For us, HEWI Heinrich Wilke GmbH is a dependable, internationally well-positioned partner that knows how to surprise with new ways of looking at things, well-engineered solutions and expressive design and is capable of providing innovative impetus. We look forward to many years of fruitful collaboration" comments Stephen Neff, Vice President Sales & Business Development at LEGIC Identsystems Ltd, on the new partnership.
