With its efficient system, polyright SA continues its successful market positioning, while strengthening its collaboration with LEGIC Identsystems Ltd.
polyright SA operates the most high-tech chip card system currently on offer on the market. The system, based on a unique database, is the only one to supply, coherently, every function involved in the use of identity cards. The target markets for this technology include the education sector (universities, schools), public health facilities (hospitals, clinics) and businesses (industrial and service sectors). In Switzerland, polyright SA is the leading supplier to the university sector, with a market share of 42%.
The polyright solution incorporates LEGIC technology for several of its customers (Du Pont de Nemours, Vacheron Constantin, TSR - the TV broadcaster to French-speaking Switzerland, and the Universities of Lausanne, Neuchâtel, Fribourg and others). The most ambitious project is most certainly the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). polyright SA was commissioned to set up the new chip card system with integrated contactless smart card technology. More than 11,000 employees and students make use of a multifunction card, valid for their entire course of study, that has a re-recordable area, and that can be loaded at self-service terminals.
This system deals with a very wide variety of functions such as access control, payment in restaurants and cafeterias, network printing and photocopy management, access to car parks, video surveillance, and even library management. Via the Intranet a remote system controls and manages the 600 access points - some of them equipped with biometric systems fingerprint and iris analysis). For the EPFL it was absolutely essential for the entire project to be managed by a single company, signifying a considerable time saving of several thousand hours. With its specific expertise, polyright SA is well positioned to meet these requirements and to take on the demanding role of Main Contractor.
