The author, Luc Roovers, is the managing director of bvba ProxTech International, based in Belgium. Luc has started to work in the RFID field in 1989 and has been involved in the development and marketing of a wide variety of products and systems. Furthermore he has successfully opened and developed export markets for some well-known access control manufacturers. Luc started with great success his own company, ProxTech International, in 1998, concentrating on development and production of a complete range of passive RFID products. ProxTech is now one of the very few suppliers capable of offering the complete range of RFID readers and read/write devices. Since the start, ProxTech has been involved in supplying its products to many world famous system manufacturers and integrators. ProxTech readers are installed in very impressive projects where they have been functioning completely problem-free for many years now and will remain to do so for many more years to come. When we take a look back to what has been accomplished since our company start, we are very optimistic for the future. A lot of this success is mainly achieved because ProxTech places the individual requirements of the customers right in the centre of its interests.
