eneo Almira from Videor Technical: Blind spots are a thing of the past
Rödermark/Germany, in March 2006. Blind spots are a thing of the past with eneo's new ultra wide angle CCTV camera, the Almira. Because Almira delivers a 360° image field, which means a 100% overview, thanks to its special lens (fisheye).
A 3-megapixel (2048x1536) high-resolution CMOS sensor gives permanent brilliant picture quality. The camera is controlled by a separate keyboard (RS-485 Pelco D, additional protocol support is currently in development).

Four virtual cameras and independent video outputs
Up to four virtual cameras (VCAMS) can be displayed with Almira and controlled with full PTZ functionality. This is an "electronic PTZ", i.e. no mechanical or moving parts are built into the housing. The result: operation fully free from wear and maintenance. Pictures can be displayed on the monitor in, for instance, 2 x 180° panorama, 4 x 90° panorama or 360° views.
The two video outputs (FBAS) operate independently from one another, so that two users separated far apart can view camera images in different displays and execute PTZ functions. Each of the video outputs has individual keyboard control.
The list of additional features is impressive. Almira not only has an intelligent motion detector and intelligent alarm management - when "Motion Tracking" is enabled, for instance, persons who enter a previously defined zone are also tracked without the user having to operate a control element.
Motion Tracking, Privacy Zones and a lot of more
Furthermore, presets and preset tours can be saved, and individual tours ("Learn Tours") programmed. Masking of specific zones ("Privacy Zones") is also very straightforward.
The sector naming function is especially recommended when it comes to surveillance of large, complex locations such as airport buildings or hypermarkets. When the user pans to a sector such as a supermarket cash desk, the name assigned to this zone is shown on the monitor so that an overview is always displayed.
Objects left in previously defined zones can be "monitored" with the "Luggage Left" function: Almira signals an alarm when the object is removed or when an object has been placed in the zone, i. e. an unattended suitcase in an airport.
Almira's range of uses are wide and varied: in addition to airports and shopping centres, banks and railway stations, the camera is ideal particularly for locations where value is placed upon discreet video surveillance, such as in conference and meeting rooms, retail outlets (e.g. jewellers) or restaurants.
This is because Almira disappears into ceilings so that it is nearly invisible, and its 360° image field and four virtual cameras allow it to replace the several CCTV cameras that would normally have to be installed for surveillance of an equally large area.
