As a world premiere LEGIC announces its first secure all-in-one card solution for dual-interface smart cards. The proven LEGIC all-in-one card system based on the powerful and secure functionality of LEGIC contactless smart card technology can now be combined with other applications on leading smart card platforms. Only one single card is necessary to use typical contactless applications together with third party contact or contactless smart card applications.
This allows to combine physical access and related all-in-one card applications with other applications such as logical access, government ID credentials, credit cards or national ticketing applications on the very same chip. With this new development public transport and secure corporate badges are now possible on one single dual-interface card allowing operators to introduce new use cases. This will allow employees to use their badges also to commute to work with the public bus or tourist card holders to use their cards also as credit cards.
LEGIC's powerful multi-application and security concept is seamlessly integrated on the new credentials. As a leader in contactless smart card technology end users can take advantage of over 2000 different applications from a worldwide partner network of over 200 LEGIC licensees.
This new development is a first of a series to embrace the converging use of smart cards. It is based on JavaCard technology and will give an outlook of further innovative products of LEGIC Identsystems Ltd. LEGIC demonstrates this premiere live at the CeBIT 2007 in hall 6, stand J32.
