The MR650 is The First Device to Come with Windows CE.Net 5.0

Unitech, a leading manufacturer of a broad range of automatic data collection products, has launched the new MR650 time and attendance management, access control and security terminal.

The MR650 is the first terminal of its kind to come with Windows CE.Net 5.0 operating system, giving it an open platform for quick and easy integration. The terminal also comes with its own SDK (software development kit), enabling developers to create their own applications straight out of the box.

MR650 Access Control TerminalThe MR650 has a stylish design and a sharp 5.6" TFT colour QVGA touch screen that is easy to use and provides a useful interface to show employees or visitors personal or company information.

The MR650 supports a range of built-in contact free proximity readers (EM 125KHz, HID and Mifare). Other options include a barcode reader or magnetic stripe reader for users to clock in and clock out of the system with a swipe of their card. If a higher level of security is needed there is an optional integrated fingerprint reader available or the standard built-in 1.3megapixels CMOS camera can be used to take pictures or record video. The integrated microphone and speaker provide audio intercom.

MR650 Access Control TerminalConnectivity is provided via onboard Ethernet (IP ready), and 802.11b/g wireless connectivity can be added via the compact flash slot. This allows the use of existing infrastructures and networks. The MR650 can be powered over the Ethernet (POE) cable, so no extra power connection is required. The on board UPS ensures that data won't be lost if mains power failure occurs.

Full control is provided for the 3 relay outputs and the 4 TTL digital inputs. The relay outputs can be used to control other devices, such as doors, turnstyles or external CCTV cameras. The inputs can detect incoming requests and instructions for the MR650.

The terminal can work as a stand alone unit and can store the data locally or on a server on the network. If stored locally a SD memory card can be added to ensure that enough space is available to hold all the logged data.

Vincent Wagenaar, Sales Manager TAS Systems for Unitech Europe comments "The MR650 is the most versatile time and attendance management and access control terminal available today. It puts the control firmly into the hands of the business giving them total flexibility with its open platform, software development kit and controllable inputs and outputs. It also comes with a really comprehensive range of features for the business to use now or to safeguard their investment by giving them the option to use them in the future."
